New Fittie Of The Week! Meet: Stephanie

Hit Fit Chicks! Happy M0nday! I hope everybody is having a great morning so far! Today I am excited to introduce you to yet another amazing Fittie Of The Week! Meet Stephanie! She’s a health and fitness lover, who enjoyed hanging out with friends & family, and recently just competed in her first Bikini Competition! I met Stephanie (@StephanieMicucc) (She is also on instagram @StephyLifts) through her following me on twitter @HealthyTips411!(She was the winner of the Summer Recipe giveaway! See her awesome over night Apple Pie Layered oats recipe under the breakfast tab here!) When I discovered she was working toward competing in her first show, I knew she would make a great Fittie Of The Week! I love sharing other women’s accomplishments in the health & fitness world and Stephanie definitely fits that mold well! Below is her story along with what a typical week of workouts looks like for Stephanie, and fun questions I asked her, too! I know you will love reading about her fitness journey and what keeps her motivated as much as I did!

My name is Stephanie Micucci and I am from southern California. I am currently going to graduate school in St. Louis. I have a bilateral hearing loss and my passion is to work with children with hearing loss and their families. When I am not studying and student teaching, I like to cook, workout, and spend time in the great outdoors with loved ones.

I just recently competed in my first fitness bikini competition and made top 5! I trained for my show during my entire first year of graduate school. It wasn’t easy, but I survived!

HT: What’s one of your favorite healthy meals or snacks?

S: Besides the Apple Pie Layer Oatmeal :), my favorite healthy meal is a chicken wrap using Flatout’s Light Sundried Tomato wrap. The recipe includes 4 oz of grilled chicken breast, Mrs. Dash’s Original Seasoning, a handful of shredded iceberg lettuce, 1/4 diced bell pepper, 2 TBSP fat free cheddar cheese, 2TBSP fat free sour cream, fresh pico de gallo (no added preservatives, no salt, spices, no artificial sweeteners). It is filling and so delicious!

S: Just knowing that I have transformed my body into one that I am proud of, and still working to improve, is what keeps me motivated. Yes, I’ve had a couple of those days where I wanted to give up because I wasn’t seeing the results wanted, but I had to keep reassuring myself that results don’t happen overnight.

I also love the drive it takes to compete. When I stepped on stage at my first show, I realized I overcame so many challenges and felt so much stronger mentally and physically than ever before.

HT: What is one tip of advice you would give to somebody who needs some motivation to workout?

Set a goal and start small! I would sit down every Sunday night and write down my goal for the week. For example, this week I am going to workout in the mornings. Continue that goal for the next coming weeks, but add a new goal each week. The following week, I am going to do a HIIT workout at a newly discovered trail.

HT: You recently Just competed in a competition! How was it and what is some advice you can give to somebody else who’s looking to compete!?

S: One word “Unforgettable”! I had fun getting dressed up and doing my T-walk on stage. I was nervous and wasn’t sure what to expect, but as soon as I stepped in front of the stage lights, I felt like a million bucks! I can’t wait to compete again.

If you truly want to do a fitness competition, ask yourself why you want to do this! When you start training, you need to be 100% committed to your clean eating and training.

HT: What’s your favorite song on your playlist right now?

S: My favorite on my playlist is Blue Milk by Big Chocolate. I love listening to electric and hip&hop music during training.

Thank you so much Stephanie for sharing your story with me! That recipe sounds delicious! I cannot wait to try that! Congratulations on placing in the top 5 of your Bikini Competition! You no doubt deserved it for working so hard! Thanks for being such a positive inspiration to the fitness and health community!
