Smooth Out Your Thighs With Hamstring Curls!
Hi Fit Chicks! Haven’t posted in awhile, but wanted to give you an awesome exercise to work the hamstrings! The hamstrings are the muscle in the backs of your thighs! Working the hamstrings can help lift your butt, and smooth out the backs of the thighs, too! There are many exercise you can perform to work the hamstrings, but today I will be showing you one of my favorite moves!
Below I am demonstrating how to do a hamstring curl on a stability ball. While this is a little more challenging then using a bench or a box-step, if you are new to this exercise, you certainly can use a bench which would be more stable and not move around as much as a ball would. The move is the same for either way.
First, start lying on your back with your heels on top of the ball, hands laying down by your sides and your head on the ground. Next, lift your hips up off the ground- keeping your abs in tight. Roll the ball in toward you using your hamstrings while digging your heels into the ball. Roll the ball back out to start, straightening your legs. That is one repetition. Try to keep your hips up the entire time. If you need a rest, lower hips to floor, take a breather, then get right back to it! I suggest starting with three sets of 10 using a bench and working your way up to using a stability ball- but if you love a challenge then definitely use the ball!
As you become better and better at this exercise, increase your repetitions or even try using one leg at a time. You will definitely feel the burn with this exercise. I hope you like this one! If you try it, let me know! Until next time, fit chicks!
